Planning for success: How we should move forward in our mobile learning initiative

All across the world, countries are implementing information and communication technologies, ICT, as a means to enhance learning in the classroom. Mobile technology is a top trend globally because use of mobile devices is very prevalent. However, mobile learning initiatives don’t always end in success nor do they become sustainable and systemic. In order for Lamar to have a successful mobile learning initiative we must learn from the experiences of others: what worked, what could have been done better, and how we can apply the lessons learned. There is a plethora of case studies and literature that provide valuable insights on what makes initiatives successful and flourish in an institution. My hope is that the research I’ve done will help me plan for a successful mobile initiative at Lamar. I’ve put together a presentation that highlights important factors that will allow us to plan for success and apply the lessons learned from global technology innovation projects.
