I have helped several Instructors with publishing their assessments in Blackboard Learn, our learning management system (LMS) for online courses at Lamar University. In doing so, I’ve had several Instructors request step-by-step instructions on how they can format, publish, and set test options themselves. There are several steps to take into consideration when creating and publishing assessments in Blackboard, as well as best practices for setting test options when deploying the assessments into the course content. Therefore, I created a short PowerPoint presentation that shares the process of converting assessments into a file that can easily be uploaded into Blackboard. Additionally, I included some of the main points and suggestions to consider when setting test options. You can find the link to the presentation below.
Fortunately, Blackboard, Inc. has a plethora of help videos you can find on YouTube. There are several regarding creating and deploying assessments and setting test options. Here are a few:
- How To Create a Test in Blackboard Learn
- How to Build a Pool of Test Questions
- How to Create a Test Question
- How to Set Test Options
- How to Upload Test Questions from Microsoft Excel
